Vettaiyan, the Rajinikanth starrer directed by TJ Gnanavel hit the theatres across the globe on October 10, 2024. The action drama has been receiving mixed reactions from the audiences, and has been delivering an average performance at the box office. Meanwhile, the Vettaiyan team has been busy releasing back-to-back deleted scenes from the film on social media, lately. The third deleted scene from the film, featuring Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, and Vasanthi was dropped on social media, today.
Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan’s deleted scene from Vettaiyan out
The newly released third deleted scene from Vettaiyan begins with an interaction between Rajinikanth’s character Athiyan IPS, his wife Tara, played by Manju Warrier, and Justice Sathyadev, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Tara is seen asking Sathyadev permission to meet the mother and sister of Guna. As she heads to meet the mother-daughter duo and reassures them, Athiyan and Sathyadev are seen having a deep conversation about the role and importance of the judiciary system.
Just like the previous deleted scenes featuring Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and Ritika Singh, the new video titled 'Vettaiyan unseen video' was released on the official social media handles of Sun TV. All these videos are also available for streaming on popular OTT platform Sun NXT, and OTTplay Premium.
Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth’s scene deserved to be in Vettaiyan
The staging of the Vettaiyan deleted scene, the deep conversation between the legendary duo, and the ideas it puts forward would have created a thought-provoking moment on silver screen. In addition, it is indeed a scene where Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, the two most celebrated ‘actors’ of Indian cinema are actually seen performing. The scene indeed sets the duo from the burden of stardom and places them just as actors, and we guess that is exactly why it was removed from the Vettaiyan theatrical cut.
However, it is evident that director TJ Gnanavel and the makers of Vettaiyan sadly let go of some of the finest scenes from the film, to make the film a ‘superstar show’. Instead of including such soulful scenes, the makers chose to include multiple unnecessary action set pieces and elevation moments, that will satisfy the fans. Sadly, this creative decision clearly backfired, as Vettaiyan emerged as an unsatisfying watch for even the Rajinikanth fans.
