Tamil film Vettaiyan starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, is currently running in theatres. The film is written and directed by filmmaker TJ Gnanavel and boasts a star ensemble, including Fahadh Faasil, Amitabh Bachchan, and others. On Tuesday, October 15, the makers of the film released a short-deleted scene from the film, featuring Rajinikanth and Fahadh.

The team of Vettaiyan released a short deleted scene from Vettaiyan featuring Rajinikanth and Fahadh Faasil on social media on Tuesday. For those who haven't watched the film, Rajinikanth plays SP Athiyan, a cop known to be an encounter specialist, while Fahadh Faasil plays Patrick aka Battery, a thief who works as an informer to Athiyan. In the deleted scene, the actors are seen walking on the road, as Athiyan thanks Patrick for his work. The latter is asked to join another cop for time period to which Patrick says that he wishes to work only for him, as the duo share a light moment.
Apart from Rajinikanth and Fahad Faasil, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, GM Sundar, Abirami, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, Rakshan, and others in important roles.
The film revolves around the concept of extra-judicial killings, with Rajinikanth playing an encounter specialist. However, a certain case makes him rethink his decision, with judicial member Sathyadev (played by Amitabh Bachchan) highlighting the impact of such killings.

Vettaiyan has collected over 240 crores worldwide. The film is backed by Lyca Productions and opened to mixed reviews. The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video. The film will be available on the platform once it completes the theatrical rights. However, an exact OTT release date will be mentioned by the makers after a few weeks to a month.
Vettaiyan has music scored by Anirudh Ravichander. Lyca Productions is backing the film, which has the camera cranked by SR Kathir I.S.C. B Kiruthika has penned the screenplay. Other parts of the technical crew include K Kadhir as production designer, Anbariv handling the stunts, editor Philomin Raj, and art director Sakthee Venkatraj M.
