On the significant occasion of Sri Rama Navami, the esteemed Chitralayam Studios has unveiled plans for a new film. Entitled Ramam, this project is being produced by Venu Donepudi on a grand scale. It marks his inaugural Pan-India venture and will feature several prominent actors in pivotal roles.

A youthful and well-regarded hero is set to play a pivotal role in this mythological drama. The filmmakers will soon unveil his name and first look at the film. Additionally, the poster features a man on horseback with the tagline "Rise of Akira," suggesting that the creators are embarking on a unique and ambitious project for the first time under their production company.

Lokamanya, a promising new talent who has previously worked with several esteemed directors, has taken on the role of director for this film. The motion poster has been released and makes a strong impression. "Ramam" explores the principles of Rama Rajya as they apply to contemporary society, focusing on how a young man with such ideals confronts the challenges of modern-day Adharma, which forms the crux of the film's narrative.

Venu Donepudi announces Ramam

The producers have announced that pre-production for the film is currently underway, with filming set to commence in June 2025. During the launch event, producer Venu Donepudi expressed his eagerness to bring the project to life, noting that he has been excited about it since he first encountered the script, as such unique concepts are rare and possess broad appeal.

Director Lokamanya remarked that a narrative combining a mythological setting with contemporary crime has yet to be explored in Telugu cinema. This distinctive approach makes the film particularly noteworthy, as it tells the story of an Indian hero who has not previously been featured in any Telugu film. Given its universal appeal, "Ramam" will also include several prominent actors from Hindi and Tamil cinema in significant roles.
