Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes is the newest Telugu flick making waves, but not exactly for the best reasons. Featuring comedian Vennela Kishore in the main role, it’s scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2024, just in time for Christmas. Even though the team is pushing hard to promote the movie, Vennela Kishore has been pretty much MIA from all the promotional activities. He hasn’t shown up at any events and has only done a pre-recorded solo interview.
Srikakulam's Sherlock Holmes is grabbing attention, but not for the right reasons.
The makers are definitely not happy about this absence. When asked about it, the producer confessed he couldn't really explain it, just mentioning that Kishore doesn't promote his movies or show up at events. Vennela Kishore has always been the type to keep his distance from the media, hardly ever making public appearances, even for the big films he’s part of. But now, the producer's annoyance has put this situation front and center.
Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes stars Vennela Kishore as the main character
The film, crafted by writer and director Mohan, is getting a solid release, and the trailer has been attracting a lot of buzz. Ananya Nagalla stars as the female lead and is heavily involved in the promotional efforts. In response to some controversy, Vennela Kishore's team clarified that while his role is important, he’s not the main character, even though the marketing suggests otherwise.
Siya Gautam and Ravi Teja also have significant parts in the movie, with music composed by Sunil Kashyap. Produced by Sri Ganapathi Cinemas, this film is a detective comedy that shifts into a thriller in its second half.
The plot centers on a mysterious murder that hasn't been solved yet, which brings a quirky local detective, Srikakulam Sherlock Holmes, into the mix, portrayed by Vennela Kishore. His quest to solve the case is the heart of the movie. Keep an eye out to see how this film does after it hits theaters.
