Vedaa starring Sharvari Wagh and John Abraham has been receiving positive reviews from viewers ever since it was released on the OTT platform, ZEE5 (OTTPlay Premium). The film, directed by Nikkhil Advani, was released in theatres on August 15, 2024, clashing with Stree 2 and Khel Khel Mein. Produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment, and JA Entertainment, the film received mixed reviews upon its theatrical release and grossed over ₹26 crores worldwide. Nearly two months after its release, the film is now streaming on the OTT platform. Now, the makers have shared a new milestone that the film has achieved. 

Vedaa reaches new milestone on OTT

On October 18, ZEE5 shared a new poster of Vedaa featuring Sharvari Wagh and John Abraham on Instagram. Sharing it, the streaming platform announced that the film has witnessed a blockbuster week as it was streamed for 200 million+ watch minutes.

They captioned the post, "Vedaa’s supporters are hitting it hard! #Vedaa now streaming on #ZEE5"

Meanwhile, reviewing Vedaa, one expert of OTTPlay wrote, "Vedaa is a good story, one that needs to be told. However, it misses the mark when it comes to balancing commercial elements with nuance, causing the overall product to suffer. Nevertheless, Sharvari wins hearts."

Sharing his excitement about Vedaa's OTT release on ZEE5, John shared in a statement, "I'm proud to be part of a film that not only entertains but also empowers. Vedaa inspires women to embrace their strength and also encourages all of us to support and uplift one another. The film is very important and relevant in today’s day and age which is a powerful reminder that when women thrive, we all thrive."

In an interview with Radio City, John reacted to box office concerns about Vedaa. He shared that the message of a film matters more than its failure or success.
