John Abraham marked an action-packed return to the silver screen this year with Vedaa. Helmed by Nikkhil Advani, the movie also features Sharvari Wagh in the lead role. Vedaa clashed at the box office with two other big releases -- Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein. Though it didn't perform well at the box office, it did receive rave reviews from critics. Vedaa is now gearing up for its OTT premiere. Read on to learn more about the film’s release date, plot, cast, and trailer.

When and where to watch Vedaa?

Nikkhil Advani’s movie Vedaa is all set for its digital premiere on ZEE5. The movie is expected to drop around the special occasion of Dussehra on October 11 or 12. Fans will also be able to watch it with OTTplay Premium after it releases on ZEE5.

Vedaa's plot, cast, and trailer

Vedaa revolves around caste discrimination and social stereotypes and prejudices. The plot follows an ex-Army officer, Abhimanyu (played by John Abraham), who teams up with the titular girl (played by Sharvari) to fight against systematic oppression.

In the trailer, we witness some intense action sequences and fight scenes that elevate the experience for thrill seekers. Budding actress Sharvari Wagh delivers a power-packed performance in the film.

John and Sharvari lead the film alongside Tamannaah Bhatia, Abhishek Banerjee, Mahadev Singh Lakhawat, Kapil Nirmal, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Kumud Mishra in prominent roles.

Vedaa Box Office

Vedaa’s box office collection was quite low compared to the blockbuster film Stree 2, which was released on the same day (15 August). John, who delivered a hit with Pathaan last year, missed out on recreating the same magic with his recent release.

Despite the gripping action scenes and a strong narrative, Vedaa failed to impress viewers and flopped at the box office with a net collection of Rs 21.47 crore in India.
