Varun Tej collaborates with a director who has faced setbacks

Recently, we disclosed that Varun Tej has committed to a horror-comedy film directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, who is known for his work on Venkatadri Express. It is noteworthy that Varun has chosen to work with Gandhi, particularly given that the director's last two films did not perform well at the box office. However, Varun was thoroughly impressed by the script and decided to move forward with the project.

The film was officially launched today in Hyderabad during a modest pooja ceremony, which was attended by Varun Tej’s wife, Lavanya Tripathi. Currently titled Korean Kanakaraju, the film is being produced on a reasonable budget. Ritika Nayak is set to portray the female lead, and her character is expected to have significant comedic potential.

UV Creations backs Varun Tej's next

The project is being developed by UV Creations in collaboration with First Frame Entertainments. Thaman will be responsible for the film's musical score. Enhancing the film's distinctive charm, Varun Tej will portray a quirky character set against a Korean backdrop. The production team has devised an effective shooting schedule, with the goal of completing filming in an expedited timeframe.

Varun Tej's previous film, Matka, was a box office failure, making this new project vital for his career trajectory. For director Merlapaka Gandhi, this film represents a crucial opportunity, as securing another directorial role following his earlier setbacks has proven to be a challenge.
