Varun Dhawan promises to work on more theatrical films ahead of Baby John's release; surprises fans watching Badlapur | WATCH

Varun Dhawan completed 12 years of his acting journey in Bollywood as his debut film Student of the Year turned 12 on October 19. The actor visited a theater wearing a Baby John customized T-shirt and surprised fans watching his film Badlapur. He also promised fans that he will work on more theatrical releases as he gears up for releases such as Baby John and Citadel: Honey Bunny. 

Varun Dhawan on working on theatrical releases

Taking to his Instagram account, Varun shared a video. The clip features the actor addressing his fans during his surprise visit to the theatre. He said, "I have been slightly inactive with my films coming out in theaters but I promise you I am gonna go and make up for it now." 

After his speech, fans cheered for him and expressed their excitement for Baby John. One fan also was heard saying, "Tera dhyaan kidhar hai, Ye tera hero idhar hai,", referring to the song Palat from his movie Main Tera Hero.

Sharing the video, he captioned it, "This moment is so special surprising fans watching Badlapur as a I complete 12 years in cinema. I promise to end this year the right way"

Varun Dhawan's recent projects

Varun's movie Bawaal co-starring Janhvi Kapoor was released on JioCinema (OTTplay Premium). The film received mixed reviews from the viewers. His horror-comedy film with Kriti Sanon was released on Jio Cinema on May 26, 2023, and received positive reviews. 

Now, the actor is gearing up for the release of Citadel: Honey Bunny which is also eyeing for an OTT release. The show will be available for streaming from November 7 on Amazon Prime Video. 

Meanwhile, his film Baby John will hit theaters on December 25, 2024. The film marks Keerthy Suresh's Bollywood debut. The plot follows an ex-police officer who fakes his death to protect his daughter. Directed by Kalees, the film is a remake of Theri.

Varun Dhawan's Student of the Year turns 12

His debut film, Student of the Year completed 12 years of release on October 19. The film also marked the debut of Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra. Expressing his gratitude, Varun shared a story on his Instagram story. In the clip, he can be seen inside a car and the song Ishq Wala Love from Karan Johar's movie was playing in the background.
