Vanangaan is a Tamil action drama set to hit screens in 2025. Originally, Suriya was supposed to star in it alongside director Bala, but for some unknown reasons, he had to step away from the project. Eventually, Arun Vijay took over the lead role. The movie premiered on January 10 for Pongal and is now available for streaming on Prime Video and Tentkotta after its theatrical release.

The movie is brought to life by B Studios and V House Productions, and it’s an action-packed thriller set in Kaniyakumari. The cast features Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani, Mysskin, Ridha, Chhaya Devi, Bala Sivaji, Shanmugarajan, Yohan Chacko, Kavitha Gopi, Brindha Sarathy, Mai Pa Narayanan, Aruldas, Munish Sivagurunath, and more. On the technical side, RB Gurudev is handling the cinematography, while Sathish Suriya takes care of the editing. RK Nagu is the art director for Vanangaan, and GV Prakash is in charge of the film's music.

What’s the deal with Vanangaan?

Arun Vijay stars as Kote in the movie, a deaf and mute guy doing odd jobs in Kanniyakumari to support his sister, who is everything to him. Things take a dark turn when he discovers some guys peeping at blind girls while they’re bathing at the hostel where he works. Kote takes matters into his own hands and takes them out, which sparks a police investigation.

When Vanangaan hit theaters, it received a lot of negative feedback, leaving fans disappointed as they had high hopes for Bala's comeback. The film faced criticism for its problematic portrayal and writing of the main conflict, which also reflected in its poor box office performance.
