The Malayalam blockbuster "Marco" is approaching the conclusion of its impressive theatrical run that commenced on December 20. It is now preparing for its release on OTT platforms in February 2025. The production team has secured a streaming agreement for the South versions of the film, featuring Unni Mukundan, with Sony LIV, which announced the OTT release date on Friday.

Directed by Haneef Adeni, the film stars Unni in the lead role, alongside Yukti Thareja, Jagadeesh, Kabir Duhan Singh, Siddique, and Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan in significant supporting roles.

Marco OTT release date: When, where to watch Unni Mukundan’s film

Marco, which has received an A rating due to its graphic violence involving children, women, and animals, is set to begin streaming on Sony LIV starting February 14 in the languages of Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil. All these versions will also be accessible with subtitles on OTTplay Premium. The producers have not yet disclosed the OTT platform or release date for the Hindi version.

The film achieved a global gross of over Rs 115 Cr during its theatrical run, which lasted more than 40 days. The Kannada version of Marco premiered in theatres on January 31. Notably, it is the Malayalam and Hindi versions that have generated significant revenue for the film, earning Rs 42Cr and Rs 13Cr from domestic markets, respectively.

Marco's OTT version to have deleted scenes?

The OTT release of the film is anticipated to rank among the most-watched Malayalam films on SonyLIV, even in light of its success in theatres. The producers have indicated that they will incorporate deleted scenes that were omitted due to their excessive violence. One such scene features actor Riyaz Khan, who mentioned that he participated in sequences illustrating a different phase of Marco's life that was not included in the theatrical version.

It is yet to be determined whether these scenes will be part of the OTT release. Regardless, Marco is set to be one of the most highly anticipated Malayalam OTT premieres in February 2025.
