The initial poster for Kishore’s Vadakkan was recently revealed on social media, confirming that the film is set to premiere in theaters across Kerala on March 7. The motion poster, featuring vibrant red tones, showcases the protagonist alongside a Theyyam figure, a traditional element from Kerala.
The accompanying caption, written in Malayalam, translates to “A person from Finland, the land of the Northern Lights, to Kerala, the land of Theyyam.” Additionally, it was noted that Vadakkan marks the first paranormal investigation film in the Malayalam cinema landscape.

The narrative of Vadakkan is vividly realized through the exceptional talents of its team, which features Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and renowned Japanese cinematographer Keiko Nakahara. The script and dialogues have been crafted by Unni R, with the musical score composed by Bijibal.
In addition to the principal cast of Kishore, Shruthy Menon, and Merin Philip, Vadakkan includes performances by Kalesh Ramanand and Maala Parvathi. Set against the rich tapestry of ancient North Malabar folklore, the film is produced by Offbeet Studios.

Vadakkan makes waves at film festival
The film featuring Kishore received the Best Supernatural Thriller Award at the Fright Night Film Fest in Kentucky in 2024, marking a historic achievement as the first Malayalam film to do so. Additionally, it was chosen for screening at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF) the previous year, along with various other festivals. Vadakkan also secured the Best Feature Film award at the Red Movie Awards in France.
