Usire Usire OTT release date: When and where to watch Rajeev Hanu-led inter-faith love story
2 months ago | 19 Views
Actor, cricketer and former Bigg Boss Kannada contestant Rajeev Hanu had a release this year, Usire Usire. Directed by CM Vijay, Usire Usire was said to be based on a real-life story, about an inter-faith couple and featured a much-publicized cameo by Kannada superstar Kiccha Sudeep. The film, which came out in early May, was a box office washout, though, despite this effort by Sudeep to give Rajeev’s career a much-needed boost. Usire Usire was panned by critics and audiences alike.
Four months on, the film’s finally coming to OTT. Usire Usire is heading to Cinebazzar OTT, where it will be available on TVOD (rental) at Rs 49 only, from September 6. Cinebazzar OTT is a digital theatre concept, which works on transactional video on demand (TVOD) format and takes movies to audiences to 177+ countries across the world.
A tale of inter-faith love: Usire Usire
Usire Usire, meanwhile, follows Rajeev as Manu and Srijitha Ghosh as Saira Banu, childhood friends who part ways when her family relocates to another city. Years later, she returns to Manu’s hometown to pursue higher education and begins living with his family. Over time, the duo develops feelings for each other, which causes friction between the families. Whether or not Manu and Saira are able to overcome these obstacles is what the film is about.
Usire Usire is the latest content acquisition by the platform, which was initially dedicated to Kannada cinema, but has now ventured into other languages as well, given the reluctance of filmmakers to go with a relatively newer and smaller streamer. Some of the titles that dropped on the platform recently include Aarata, which had a simultaneous theatrical and digital release, Orchestra, Mysuru!. Tagarupalya, Chow Chow Bath, 1888, among others. There’s also the Malayalam film Nerchapetty, which follows the love story of a nun.
