Is Nivin Pauly’s Thaaram on hold, or will it pick up again once he gets back in shape? That’s the big question floating around since the production team of this much-anticipated film hit pause after just one day of shooting in Manali back in November 2022.

Fans have been buzzing with speculation that the project might be scrapped, especially after co-producer Listin Stephen mentioned that the OTT rights for his other project with Nivin, Ramachandra Boss & Co, are still up for grabs. He referred to Nivin’s film as a “luxury car,” hinting at the actor’s high pay and market value, but it seems the returns weren’t what Listin was hoping for.

Vinay Govind expressed a desire for Nivin Pauly to get fit again for Thaaram

In a recent chat with OTTplay, director Vinay Govind opened up about his film Thaaram, which he spent nearly seven years developing before it was put on hold after just one day of shooting. He discussed the current status of the project, which was meant to feature Nikhila Vimal, Kayadu Lohar, and Vinay Forrt.

Vinay explained, "This is a big-budget film that needs collaboration from various sectors. The main hurdle for Thaaram is getting everyone on board, and our industry hasn't really seen many projects of this scale. It’s crucial for the film to be executed at that level for it to succeed." His latest movie, Get-Set Baby, premiered in theaters on February 21.

The director shared why they had to pause production, saying, “We needed Nivin to look a certain way. Unfortunately, the pandemic caused some delays, and even though we tried different options with other actors, it just didn’t pan out. The good news is he’s getting back in shape now. Fingers crossed, everything will align again soon.”

Nivin Pauly has an awesome lineup planned for 2025

Nivin's got a bunch of thrilling movies lined up! The newest one is Adithyan Chandrashekhar’s Multiverse Manmadhan, where he’ll be playing a superhero. Plus, he’s returning for Abrid Shine’s Action Hero Biju 2 and will also make a special appearance in George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar’s Dear Students alongside Nayanthara.
