Recently, there have been a few Hindi films that focus on Indian politicians and political happenings. The newest buzz is about a biopic on Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Maharani 2 director Ravindra Gautam is said to be leading this project. As per a report from Mid-Day, actor Anant Joshi has been cast to portray the UP CM in the film. He previously appeared in the Vikrant Massey film, 12th Fail.
Is Anant Joshi set to play Yogi Adityanath in his biopic?
Anant Joshi is set to portray a young Yogi Adityanath in the upcoming biopic about the UP Chief Minister, according to media sources. The film, which doesn't have a title yet, will tell the story of a young boy who rises to become a key player in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The film takes a close look at Yogi Adityanath’s formative years, his spiritual journey at the Gorakhnath Math, and how he eventually made his mark in politics. Anant’s performance really highlights the struggles and ambitions of a young man on a quest for meaning, according to a source.
For those who might not know, Yogi Adityanath left his family behind in the 1990s to become a disciple of Mahant Avaidyanath, who was the head of the Gorakhnath Math at the time. In this film, Bollywood star Paresh Rawal is expected to play the role of Mahant Avaidyanath. Reports suggest that the movie has been filmed in various locations throughout Uttar Pradesh and Gorakhpur.
Currently, the crew is shooting at Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai. "They also filmed at Guru Nanak Khalsa College last week. Prior to that, they spent 45 days in northern India, capturing scenes in Rishikesh and other significant spots related to Adityanath’s life. After wrapping up in Mumbai, the project will be complete," an insider shared with the tabloid.
