Turbo, the mass action thriller which stars Mammootty in the lead role, is the latest super hit from Malayalam cinema in 2024. The movie, which marked the megastar’s reunion with filmmaker Vysakh after a long gap, is penned by writer-director Midhun Manuel Thomas. As reported earlier, the Mammootty starrer is gearing up to have its OTT release on Sony LIV. The recent updates suggest that Turbo will have its OTT release by the second week of July 2024.

Turbo OTT release date and time confirmed?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Turbo will have its OTT release on popular streaming platform Sony LIV, on July 12, 2024. In that case, it is safe to assume that the Mammootty starrer will be available for streaming on the platform from July 12, Friday, midnight. However, both Sony LIV and production banner Mammootty Kampany have not reacted to these reports, yet. But, the recent updates suggest that an official announcement on the Turbo OTT release and other details will be out, in a few days.

As reported earlier, Turbo was released only in Malayalam, when it hit the theatres in May 2024. However, the Mammootty starrer, which is scripted by the popular writer-filmmaker Midhun Manuel Thomas, is expected to stream on Sony LIV in five languages. Just like all the recent Malayalam films that hit the OTT screens, the Vysakh directorial will also get dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages additionally. Turbo is the second Mammootty film to stream on Sony LIV in 2024, after the super hit period horror thriller Bramayugam.

Turbo box office collection

Interestingly, Turbo has not finished its theatrical run yet and is still being screened at all major cities of Kerala despite the grand release of Telugu magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD. As per the reports, the Mammootty starrer made a total gross collection of over Rs. 71 crore from the worldwide box office so far and earned the super hit status. The movie, which started on a high note at the box office, witnessed a major dip in its collection in Kerala owing to the early arrival of monsoon season.
