The makers of Malayalam latest film, Turbo, confirmed that its Arabic version will hit the big screens in GCC on August 2. The Arabic teaser was unveiled recently, much to the delight of Mammootty fans across the Gulf countries.

All about Turbo’s Arabic version

In June, the actor showed up at the teaser launch event held in Dubai. Speaking to the fervent crowd, Mammootty expressed his desire to visit more regions of the United Arab Emirates in order to promote his upcoming film, should it prove to be another box office hit. Similar collections were created by Turbo in the Gulf States and India. "This might be the first Malayalam movie with an Arabic dubbing," he stated. In addition, the Malayalam megastar advised fans to see the film in theatres rather than holding out for its digital release.

He stated that the primary character in the Arabic version, Jasim Turbo has replaced Turbo Jose as the new name. The extra edits done to suit the preferences of the target audience will not be evident until after the movie has been released. Kerala-based Ahmad Salah, who has become incredibly well-known online for his multilingual video content and array of skills, dubbed Mammootty in Arabic.

Turbo to be available on Sony LIV

On August 9, the movie should be available for streaming in five languages on Sony LIV. Along with Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, the Vysakh-directed film will also be available in these languages, just like all the other recent Malayalam films that have made their debut on OTT platforms. This is Mammootty's second project acquired by the platform, the first being the popular horror thriller Bramayugam, which debuted in February.

The movie, which was directed by Vysakh, had a fantastic opening weekend at the box office despite mixed reviews from critics and entertainment enthusiasts. It is interesting to know that Turbo's makers are already developing a sequel. Another South Indian or Malayalam superstar is expected to join the megastar in the second installment of the franchise.
