Tumbbad re-release box office collection day 5: Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Tumbbad, featuring Sohum Shah, had a re-release in cinemas 6 years after its original release (2018). The movie hit the big screen again on September 13, 2024. Interestingly, Tumbbad's re-release performed better than Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders, which is a fresh release. After five days of its theatrical re-release, Tumbbad is closer to surpassing the collection of its original release.

A while ago, Sohum Shah shared a box office update of Tumbbad's re-release on his official X handle. According to his tweet, Tumbbad's re-release collected Rs 10.69 crore after five days of its theatrical run. While sharing the update, Shah penned, "Big thanks to our amazing audience! Experience the magical world of Tumbbad once again, running now in cinemas (sic)." Take a look at his tweet below:
On day 5, Tumbbad minted Rs 1.66 crore at the box office. Considering the same, the total collection of the film's re-release comes to Rs 10.69 crore. For the uninitiated, in 2018, Tumbbad's lifetime box office collection was Rs 13.25 crore.
Aanand L Rai on response to Tumbbad re-release
Meanwhile, in conversation with OTTplay, producer Aanand L Rai reacted to the 'overwhelming' response to Tumbbad's re-release. He said, "You feel very happy about it. You feel happy about the creative people who made this film, and the passion that was involved while making this film. You feel happy for the actor, director, and DOP. It's a very well-done film. Der aaye durust aaye. It's fine, I am very happy." While Rai backed the movie, Anand Gandhi served as the creative director of Tumbbad.
