Actor Kartik Aaryan and director Karan Johar are set to collaborate once again on their project, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, after their widely reported disagreement. The film is slated for release on February 13, 2026, just in time for Valentine's Day.

On Friday, industry analyst Taran Adarsh announced the release date on X, previously known as Twitter, providing the latest information about the film.
His post read, “KARTIK AARYAN ARRIVES ON VALENTINE'S 2026 – 'TU MERI MAIN TERA, MAIN TERA TU MERI' RELEASE DATE LOCKED... #KartikAaryan's next film – a love story titled #TuMeriMainTeraMainTeraTuMeri – will arrive in cinemas on 13 Feb 2026 [#ValentineDay weekend]."
The film's release date is strategically chosen to take advantage of the excitement surrounding Valentine’s Day. It is being promoted as a romantic comedy, although the producers have yet to unveil the first look and official posters. Currently, details about the storyline remain confidential. Reports suggest that Ananya Panday has been cast as the female lead.

Entitled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, the film will be directed by Sameer Vidwans, who previously collaborated with Kartik in Satyaprem Ki Katha. This project marks the first partnership between Kartik and Karan Johar. In 2019, Dharma Productions announced Dostana 2, but filming was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although production has not yet resumed, rumors of a rift between the actor and the filmmaker have emerged.
Recently, Kartik discussed his relationship with Karan after being shown a photograph of them together at the SCREEN LIVE event in Mumbai, where Karan is seen playfully pulling Kartik's ear.
Reflecting on the image, Kartik commented, “What can I say about this? I believe it represents a love-hate relationship very well.” He noted that the photo was taken just before they began working on Dostana 2, explaining, “This moment captures when we signed our first film that was meant to happen. I think he knew that I… so he took the picture beforehand.”
