The film has been making waves on social media for a few months which made the makers take the decision to re-release the romantic drama once again on the big screens.
Laila Majnu re-release to surpass original box office earnings!
When the film was released in cinemas on September 7, 2018, it did not perform well, however, over the years, the film gained a lot of fan following, and now the re-release of the film is set to surpass the original box office collections of the film in just four days. According to the reports by Pinkvilla, on the first day of the re-release of the film on August 9, 2024, it recorded Rs. 30 lakh. The film then collected Rs. 70 lakh on day 2 taking a jump of 110%. The two-day total collection of the film now stands at Rs 1 crore.
The film is expected to cross Rs 2 crore mark today, on Sunday which will then cross the lifetime collections of its original run. This figure is notable as it surpasses the film's original three-day earnings of ₹1.51 crore back in 2018.

Reacting to the overwhelming social media response which is now visible at the box office as well, Avinash Tiwary thanked the audiences in a heartfelt tweet. On his X (Twitter) account, the actor wrote: "Thank you for all the love...I have always believed there is a huge segment of audience that doesn't raise its voice... but Jo nahi bolte,Woh jab Bolte hain toh Kya Kamaal Bolte hain! Thank you to the audience🙏🏻🙏🏻...This is your victory...I know it was personal for you."
