Telugu cinema has consistently produced remarkable content in recent years, with numerous films debuting weekly across the Telugu states. However, for the first time in an extended period, there are no significant or mid-tier Telugu films scheduled for release. Instead, three prominent non-Telugu films are poised to premiere on March 7, 2025.

Latest Telugu releases on March 7, 2025  

The films under consideration include the Malayalam blockbuster Officer on Duty, Kingston, a Tamil production featuring GV Prakash, and the Telugu-dubbed version of Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava. Each of these films has garnered considerable attention and achieved success in their original languages, with the exception of Kingston, which is a direct Tamil-Telugu release.

Officer on Duty has achieved a remarkable box office collection of Rs 50 crore in the Malayalam language, featuring Kunchacko Boban in the principal role. Directed by Jithu Ashraf, the film is poised for an extensive release in Tamil and Telugu on March 7, 2025.

Chhaava is having a massive Telugu release

In a different vein, Chhaava, a period drama starring Vicky Kaushal, has already surpassed Rs 450 crore in Hindi. The film has generated significant interest in the Telugu market, prompting the esteemed producer Allu Aravind to acquire its distribution rights. He is orchestrating a substantial release across the Telugu states, anticipating a strong box office performance.

Kingston is a fantasy-horror-thriller helmed by director Kamal Prakash. The film has garnered considerable attention owing to its captivating genre and the fame of GV Prakash. Divyabharati stars as the female lead, with the movie scheduled to premiere on March 7, 2025.

In addition to these major releases, several low-budget Telugu films are also aiming for a release this weekend. However, their release dates are still uncertain, contingent upon the availability of suitable theaters in Hyderabad.

This weekend is set to feature a surge of dubbed films taking center stage at the Telugu box office. Traditionally, Telugu viewers have demonstrated a robust preference for films that offer engaging content. Among the three releases, Chhaava is anticipated to perform strongly, as industry analysts hold optimistic views regarding its potential. Following its success in Hindi, a significant number of viewers are likely to be interested in experiencing it in Telugu and exploring its historical storyline.

Conversely, the success of Officer on Duty and Kingston will largely hinge on audience feedback. It will be interesting to observe which of these films resonates with Telugu audiences in the days ahead.
