Tovino Thomas and Biju Menon, two popular Malayalam actors, might be joining NTR Jr. in Prashanth Neel’s upcoming Telugu film, tentatively called Dragon, according to some reports. Prashanth's last project, Salaar, featured Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role, and he even hinted at a crossover between that film and the NTR project, also known as #NTR31.
This big-budget film is expected to kick off shooting on January 16, with a release date already set for January 9, 2026. The film's pooja ceremony took place back in August 2024.
Rukmini Vasanth, who gained popularity from the Kannada films Sapta Saagaradaache Ello: Side A & B, has been cast as the female lead. The movie will be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Mythiri Movie Makers is set to produce the film, and they also supported Tovino in two of his 2024 projects – Dr Biju’s Adrishyajalakangal and Lal Jr’s Nadikar. While Adrishyajalakangal received great reviews, Nadikar didn’t do well at the box office, even though Tovino’s role as a ‘superstar trying to change his luck’ was praised. Nadikar is still waiting for its OTT release. Last year, Tovino met Prashanth Neel while promoting his 3D adventure fantasy film, Ajayante Randam Moshanam.
This film will be Tovino’s first foray into Telugu cinema. During the promotions for Ajayante Randam Moshanam in Hyderabad, he mentioned that he was getting offers and was optimistic about landing a good project. His latest film, Identity, featuring Trisha Krishnan and Vinay Rai, is currently showing in theaters.

Biju Menon is currently involved in the upcoming movie featuring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by AR Murugadoss, which also stars Rukmini. Last year, he mentioned to OTTplay that he's been receiving offers from different film industries after his standout role in Ayyappanum Koshiyum. His last Telugu film was Khatarnak back in 2006.
