Ajayante Randam Moshanam, the period fantasy film featuring Tovino Thomas, is one of the most anticipated Malayalam films of 2024. The project directed by newcomer Jithin Lal, is now nearing the final stages of its post-production. But the recent updates suggest that Ajayante Randam Moshanam has been caught in a legal trouble after a financer filed a complaint against the film’s producers, over financial issues. The theatre, OTT, and other deals of the Tovino Thomas starrer have been put on hold due to the same.
Ajayante Randam Moshanam in legal trouble?
If the recent updates are to be believed, a person named Dr. Vineeth, who hails from Eranakulam, Kerala, has filed a lawsuit against UGM Movies, the production banner that bankrolls the Tovino Thomas starrer. In the complaint, it has been stated that the petitioner handed over Rs. 3.2 crore for the production of Ajayante Randam Moshanam. The petitioner has further alleged that he was not given the ownership of the film, as it was secretly transferred to someone else.
As per the latest reports, the Eranakulam sessions court has isssued a stay order on all further financial dealings of the Jithin Lal directorial. Following this, all major financial deals of the Tovino Thomas starrer, including its theatrical rights, OTT streaming rights, satellite rights, and audio rights, have been put on hold until further notice. In that case, the Ajayante Randam Moshanam release might also be put on hold, until the producers come up with a solid solution for the legal trouble.
Ajayante Randam Moshanam release plans
The Tovino Thomas starrer, which features the talented actor in a triple role as Ajayan, Maniyan, and Kunji Kelu, was originally supposed to be released in May 2024. But the Jithin Lal directorial was later postponed to the Onam season of 2024, due to the delay in its post-production works. It was also reported that the team is planning to push the release of Ajayante Randam Moshanam to December 2024, as they want to focus on post-production of VFX-heavy film, without the pressure of the release.
