Last weekend was supposed to be the big week for the Toxic release, but when Rocking Star Yash announced he was pushing his film back by a year, it opened the door for others to jump in. Kannada and Malayalam both had three films each, while Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi each had one. The standout at the box office was Tamil's Ajith with his film Good Bad Ugly, which is still performing well, which is why there won’t be any new releases from that industry this week.

On the other hand, there are a couple of original Kannada films competing for a slice of the Easter weekend box office. These films are quite different from each other—one is a gripping courtroom drama, and the other is a mythological tale presented in the Yakshagana style.

Veera Chandrahasa

Ravi Basrur, famous for his musical contributions to movies like Ugramm, Mufti, Anjaniputra, KGF, and Salaar, has taken on the roles of director and producer for a secretive new film. He hasn't shared any trailers or details about it yet. The film is said to be entirely presented in the Yakshagana style, featuring a mix of well-known film actors and traditional performers. It tells the story of King Chandrahasa, a key ally of the Pandavas as mentioned in the Mahabharata.

Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2

Krishna Ajai Rao, famous for his roles in romantic movies like Krishnan Love Story, takes on the role of a lawyer in Yuddhakaanda Chapter 2, directed by Pavan Bhat. He defends a mother who killed the man who abused her young child. The film raises the question: should she face the harshest punishment, or is she simply a victim of the system?
