It's the Ugadi/Eid weekend, which means a major Bollywood film is hitting theaters this week. This time, it's Salman Khan's turn with his movie Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, set to release on March 30, 2025. Alongside, there’s a big Malayalam film that will also have a Kannada dubbed version, plus the latest from director Yogaraj Bhat. As for OTT releases, there aren't any official announcements yet, but a few titles are likely to be available by the weekend since Ugadi falls on Sunday.

Here’s a rundown of the Kannada original and dubbed films coming to theaters and OTT from March 24 to March 30.

L2 Empuraan

Actor and filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran is back with the second installment of the Lucifer universe, titled Empuraan, which is one of the major releases this week. This Malayalam film, penned by Murali Gopy and featuring Mohanlal in the lead role, will be released globally at the same time, with dubbed versions available in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

Manada Kadalu

Director Yogaraj Bhat's latest film features fresh faces Sumukha, Rashika Shetty, and Anjali Anish in leading roles. This project marks the return of producer E Krishnappa, who previously worked with Yogaraj on the successful film Mungaru Male, 18 years ago. Their new venture tells a contemporary love story that the team believes will resonate with audiences, making it its unique selling point.

Bad

Director PC Shekar's upcoming film tells a 'one-of-a-kind' story, showcasing six characters that embody the six facets of Arishadvarga (the six foes of the mind). Nakul Gowda and Manvita Kamath take on the main roles in this intriguing project.

Om Kali Jai Kali

Vimal stars in this gripping crime thriller series set in the 90s, weaving a story of revenge, loyalty, and redemption during the vibrant Dasara celebrations in Tamil Nadu. Directed by Ramu Chellappa, Om Kali Jai Kali features a talented cast including Pavani Reddy, Pugazh, GM Kumar, and Dhivya Duraiswamy, among others. The original Tamil version will also be offered with Kannada audio.

UI

There's buzz that Real Star Upendra's film UI might be the major Ugadi release on OTT, but the platform hasn't confirmed anything yet. The movie hit theaters on December 20, 2024, and Zee Network secured its satellite rights, announcing a TV premiere would be coming soon. However, Sudeep's film Max, which released on Christmas, received a similar promo and made its way to the platform with a simultaneous TV and OTT release.

Since then, there hasn't been any update on UI, leading to speculation that it could drop on the platform for Ugadi.
