Looking ahead, February 2025 promises to be just as exciting, with highly anticipated star-studded releases such as Mammootty's Bazooka, Kunchacko Boban's Officer on Duty, and Anaswara Rajan-Sajin Gopu's Painkili, among others. Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal

Release date – February 7, 2025 

Joju George begins the new month with Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, a family drama also starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Alencier Lopez. The film focuses on the three brothers featured in the title, portrayed by these lead actors. Written and directed by debutant Sharan Venugopal, the film was initially scheduled for release in January 2025 but was later postponed.

Bazooka

Release date – February 14, 2025 

Mammootty and Gautham Vasudev Menon, who kicked off 2025 with Dominic and Ladies’ Purse, are reuniting once again the following month for Bazooka. Directed by Deeno Dennis, this game thriller will see the Malayalam megastar and the renowned Tamil filmmaker actor in the lead roles. Bazooka is expected to showcase Mammootty in a suave, captivating avatar.

Bromance

Release date – February 14, 2025 

Arun D Jose, the director of Jo and Jo, has once again brought together a fresh group of young talents for his upcoming film Bromance. Starring Arjun Ashokan, Mathew Thomas, and Mahima Nambiar of RDX fame, the film also features Sangeeth Prathap and Shyam Mohan, both of whom gained recognition with Premalu, adding to the anticipation for a fun-filled ride. The cast is further strengthened by the inclusion of Kalabhavan Shajohn and Binu Pappu.

Daveed

Release date – February 14, 2025 

Antony Varghese Pepe, known for his roles in high-octane films like RDX and Kondal, is back in the action genre with Daveed. Directed by Govind Vishnu, the film centers around the story of boxer Ashiq Abu, with the teaser hinting at an epic showdown between Pepe and Mo Ismail’s characters inside the boxing ring. The stellar cast also includes Lijomol Jose, Vijayaraghavan, and Saiju Kurup, adding to the excitement for the film.

Painkili

Release date – February 14, 2025 

Sreejith Babu's Painkili not only grabs attention with its intriguing title but also piques curiosity with its interesting casting choices, including Anaswara Rajan and Sajin Gopu. Fans are eager to see what roles Rekha Pathrose from Rekhachithram and Ranganna’s loyal Amban from Aavesham will play in the film. While the plot remains tightly under wraps, the leading lady has been dropping hints on her Instagram, teasing a potential love story at the heart of Painkili.

Officer on Duty

Release date – February 20, 2025 

In Office on Duty, Kunchacko Boban steps into the role of a police officer, with Priyamani starring alongside him. The film, directed by Jithu Ashraf—who previously assisted on Action Hero Biju and Ela Veezha Poonchira—marks his directorial debut. Touted as a cop thriller, the movie also features Vishak Nair and Jagadish in significant roles.

Get Set Baby

Release date – February 21, 2025 (tentative) 

After the massive success of Marco, Unni Mukundan is set to bring a comedy-drama to the silver screens with Get Set Baby. Nikhila Vimal also joins as the female lead in the film, which revolves around the challenges faced by an IVF specialist. It would be interesting to note how the audience would respond to the comedy-drama movie, which comes close on the heels of violent actioner Marco which elevated Unni Mukundan to the action superstar stature. 

Thadavu

Release date – February 21, 2025 

Among the big-budget and star-powered films comes Thadavu, a critically acclaimed film. Despite winning two Kerala State Awards for Best Actress and Best Debut Director (Fazil), Thadavu hardly garnered any attention. It needs to be noted that Thadavu's Beena R Chandran shared the accolades for Best Actress along with Urvashi, whose performance in Ullozhukku was lauded by critics and audiences, alike. 

Machante Maalakha

Release date – February 27, 2025 

Soubin Shahir, who was last seen in the recently released Pravinkoodu Shappu alongside Basil Joseph, joins forces with Namitha Pramod for Machante Maalakha. The poster and teaser hint at a quirky yet heartwarming storyline. Directed by Boban Samuel, the film also features Dileesh Pothan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Shanthi Krishna in pivotal roles.
