The action star has been in need for Mission: Impossible 8 even before the seventh installment had hit the big screen. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 released in 2023 and took the world by storm. The actor was already shooting for the eighth installment and turns out today is the day when he chose to announce the official title of the film, a fresh trailer, and a release date for the same.
Mission: Impossible 8 Gets An Official Title
While we all guessed that the eighth installment of the MI franchise will be called Dead Reckoning Part 2, the actor gave us all a surprise as the new official title for Tom Cruise's MI 8 is Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. The film is set to release on May 23, 2025. Announcing the same on his official Instagram handle, Cruise wrote, “Our lives are the sum of our choices. Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. See you at the movies May 23, 2025.”
The trailer that came with an introduction into Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning which is set to be a massive addition to this franchise. The movie has the responsibility to wrap up the loose ends left in Deadpool Reckoning and that is a big responsibility. The trailer captures the danger and the adrenaline correctly as we see Tom Cruise running against time and the action pieces shows how wild the team has let their imagination flow. As per Variety, in Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 ‘Cruise’s Ethan Hunt finds himself up against a dangerous AI program called The Entity that seems to predict his every move and could cause disaster if it falls into the wrong hands. After escaping a calamitous train crash in the ending of the movie, Ethan realizes The Entity is stashed aboard an old Russian submarine, but a foe from Ethan’s past named Gabriel (Esai Morales) is also on the trail.’
In Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning Edai Morales reprises his part, with Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Henry Czerny, Greg Tarzan Davis, Mariela Garriga and Indira Varma. The franchise will now with joined by Hannah Waddingham, Janet McTeer, Holt McCallany, Katy O’Brian, Nick Offerman and Tramell Tillman for the first time.
