The Thunderbolts are beginning to form. In the post-blip landscape of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they emerge as the unexpected, or perhaps reluctant, successors to the Avengers. The latest Big Game Trailer for Marvel Studios' upcoming superhero ensemble provides an in-depth glimpse into this group of outcasts, while also unveiling the formidable antagonist—one of Marvel's most potent characters.
Thunderbolts Big Game Trailer
Marvel unveiled the trailer for Thunderbolts during Super Bowl LIX, a prominent event in American television. The trailer begins with Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) suggesting the Thunderbolts as a substitute for the Avengers to "save the world." Subsequently, Bucky, portrayed by Sebastian Stan, assembles this group of villains to fulfill that mission, despite their uncertainty regarding their status as heroes. The team includes US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Yelena (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen).
The most notable aspect of the trailer is the introduction of their formidable opponent—the immensely powerful, Superman-esque Marvel antihero known as Sentry. While Lewis Pullman was previously revealed as his alter ego, Bob, in the initial trailer, this latest footage showcases Sentry effortlessly overpowering the Thunderbolts, leaving fans in a state of excitement.
