Thudarum release delay
Thudarum was initially scheduled for release on January 30, 2025, marking Mohanlal’s first theatrical appearance of the year. However, the film did not make it to theaters as planned, reportedly due to an OTT deal that caused the postponement. The directorial work of Tharun Moorthy has recently obtained a U/A censor certificate from the relevant authorities. Thudarum is now slated for release in May 2025.
According to the censor certificate, the narrative of Thudarum centers on Shanmugham, a taxi driver who has a deep emotional connection to his vintage ambassador car. Unfortunately, those around him do not reciprocate his sentiments. Set against the backdrop of a hill town in Pathanamthitta, Kerala, the film aims to explore themes of family relationships, life in a small community, and the various challenges and joys of daily existence.
Shobana, who has previously starred alongside Mohanlal in several well-received films, makes her return to Malayalam cinema after a break with Thudarum. The reunion of these beloved stars on screen is one of the most anticipated highlights of the film.
