After a busy week of OTT releases, including Joju George's Pani, Aashiq Abu's Rifle Club, Arjun Ashokan's Anand Sreebala, and Naslen's I Am Kathalan, the third week of January 2025 appears relatively quiet in terms of new Malayalam streaming content.

However, fans need not be disappointed, as Mohanlal's directorial debut Barroz will begin streaming on OTT less than a month after its theatrical release. Additionally, in theatres, Mammootty's new movie Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, is set to hit the screens. Here's the full list of new Malayalam OTT and theatre releases for the week.

New Malayalam OTT, theatre releases this week (January 21 to January 26)

Barroz

Mohanlal's high-budget directorial debut, a children's fantasy, did not fare well at the box office. The film, which tells the story of an ancient treasure guardian awaiting the rightful heir's return, will now hope for a better reception on OTT. Mohanlal stars as the titular 400-year-old treasure guardian, who, alongside his sidekick Voodoo, is bound to protect the gold of his Portuguese lord until a teenager arrives to claim it.

Dominic and the Ladies' Purse

Gautham Vasudev Menon makes his Malayalam directorial debut with an investigative comedy starring Mammootty and Gokul Suresh. Mammootty plays the lead role of a former police officer-turned-detective, who is assigned the case of finding the owner of a purse. As he engages in a series of conversations, he uncovers something much bigger.

Anpodu Kanmani

Arjun Ashokan and Anagha Narayanan star as a newly married couple who begin to face questions about parenthood and are compelled to navigate the expectations of those around them. Directed by Liju Thomaz, this feel-good film also features Althaf Salim, Johny Antony, and Navas Vallikunnu in important roles.

Am Ah

Starring Dileesh Pothan, Jaffer Idukki, and Devadarshini, this Thomas Sebastian directorial follows the journey of road construction supervisor Stephen as he arrives in the hillside village of Kavantha. What begins as fear and uncertainty soon turns into heartwarming experiences, revealing different facets of love to Stephen.
