The teaser of Thiru Manickam, the upcoming film starring actor-director Samuthirakani in the lead role, has been unveiled by the makers on social media on Thursday. A release date for the filmis yet to be announced by the makers.

The makers of Samuthirakani-starrer Thiru Manickam released the teaser of the film on social media on Thursday. The teaser, which is less than a minute, begins with a voiceover about how a deer is being hunted by the wild animals, and as it rains, the deer confronts its hunters. In the intercuts, we are shown different characters from the film, as the teaser comes to an end. From the looks of the teaser, Thiru Manickam looks to be a drama revolving around the titular protagonist who has to confront his enemies.

The film is written and directed by Nanda Periyasamy. A release date for the film is yet to be announced. The filmmaker last made Anandham Vilayadum Veedu. As per reports, Thiru Manickam is a societal drama set against the backdrop of Papanasam. The makers have not revealed the plot of the film.

Apart from Samuthirakani, the film also stars Bharathiraja, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu.

The film is bankrolled by GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy and Raja Senthil under the banner GPRK CINEMAS. The technical crew consists of M Sukumar handling the cinematography, and music scored by Vishal Chandrasekar. SP Raja Sethupathi is in charge of the editing. Subash.K, Satheesh Bala, Karthick Kamaraj, Dena Sakthivel, Jaisankar.P have worked in the direction department of the film.

Meanwhile, Samuthirakani who works in Tamil and Telugu film industries predominantly, was last seen in Kamal Haasan-starrer Indian 2. The film is directed by Shankar. The actor will be once again working with Shankar in the upcoming Telugu film Game Changer which stars Ram Charan. The film is set for Christmas release.
