We had earlier reported that actor-director Samuthirakani will be starring in the upcoming Tamil film Thiru Manickam. The makers recently announced that the film is all set to hit theatres on December 20. The film is written and directed by Nanda Periyasamy.

Samuthirakani's Thiru Manickam release date out

Headlined by Samuthirakani, the Tamil film Thiru Manickam is gearing up for its theatrical release. It is slated to hit big screens on December 20, the makers announced recently on social media.

Apart from Samuthirakani, the film also stars Bharathiraja, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu. Nanda Periyasamy, who has worked in films like Rashmi Rocket, and Anandham Vilayadum Veedu, has written and directed Thiru Manickam.

Produced by GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy and Raja Senthil under the banner GPRK CINEMAS, the film’s cinematography is handled by M Sukumar. The music is scored by Vishal Chandrasekar and SP Raja Sethupathi is in charge of the editing. Subash.K, Satheesh Bala, Karthick Kamaraj, Dena Sakthivel, Jaisankar.P have worked in the direction department of the film.

Thiru Manickam on OTT

The post-theatrical streaming rights of Thiru Manickam have been bagged by ZEE5. The film will be available on the platform along with the OTTplay Premium app, once it completes the theatrical run. The shooting for the film has been completed, with key cast members dubbing for their portions earlier this year.

Meanwhile, ZEE5 has also bagged the rights of the recently released Tamil film Brother, starring Jayam Ravi, Priyanka Arul Mohan and others. The family drama released for Diwali in October, and is yet to get an OTT release date. The streaming platform also released the web series Aindham Vedham, a mythological drama series recently.

Samuthirakani, who was last seen in Nandhan, will be next seen in Game Changer which is set to release in January 2025 for Sankranthi. Featuring Ram Charan, Kiara Advani and others, it is directed by Shankar.
