Actor and filmmaker Samuthirakani took on the lead role in the 2024 Tamil movie Thiru Manickam, which hit theaters this weekend. After its run in cinemas, you can catch it on ZEE5, with the streaming date set for January 31. ZEE5 is part of the OTTplay Premium app lineup too.

GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy, and Raja Senthil are the producers behind this film, which comes from GPRK CINEMAS. M Sukumar takes care of the cinematography, while the music is composed by Vishal Chandrasekar. SP Raja Sethupathi is responsible for the editing.

Thiru Manickam is all about what?

Thiru Manickam is a family drama crafted by Nanda Periyasamy, who both wrote and directed it. The film features a talented cast, including Ananya, Bharathiraja, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu. The story revolves around the main character, who runs a lottery ticket shop located on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He’s a family-oriented guy with a strong sense of justice. One day, a poor elderly man visits his shop, picks out some lottery tickets, and plans to return with the money. Unfortunately, the man faces financial struggles and never comes back, but the tickets he chose end up winning a huge prize. While the shopkeeper believes the winnings should go to the old man, his family pressures him to think differently.
