Cinematographer Barry Peterson's experience in making The Space Between Us

Back in 2017, cinematographer Barry Peterson shared a lot of things about the movie, The Space Between Us to Collider portal. Peter talked about various things about working on a science fiction genre, and with limited gravity. According to Peter, cinematography is quite similar to storytelling. It's like reading a script then picturising it and bringing it to the audience with a lot of hard work.

“We storyboarded any of the technical space sequences. Most of it, though Peter is, again, very much an actor’s director, so I was able to sit and shoot a lot with Peter and design and watch some of the rehearsals. The rehearsals were very telling, and it was nice to be on a film where I got to sit back and let things breathe a little bit, watch a performance, and have actors moving within a scene and kind of knowing that they were gonna start here and end up there. It was very refreshing”, Barry Peterson told Collider.
