Dheeraj Sarna's The Sabarmati Report starring Vikrant Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra is based on true events focusing on the Godhra train burning incident of 2002. The movie will hit theaters on November 15. Ahead of it, in a new interview, Vikrant addressed the rumors of the film getting delayed due to cuts suggested by CBFC.
Vikrant Massey on The Sabarmati Report
Earlier reports suggested that The Sabarmati Report was delayed due to cuts recommended by the CBFC and that the team had to reshoot some scenes. However, in an interview with India Today, Vikrant Massey addressed the rumors and clarified the situation.
He said, "It is misinformation. We reshot the scene because the film got delayed. We had the advantage of sitting at the edit and wanting to better ourselves, so the two-day reshoot was not because of the censors."
Talking about the Censor, Massey added that it is very generic process with every film. Whenever a film gets submitted, the makers get feedback, and if it's a serious issue, CBFC recommend cuts.
As per him, there have been no cuts recommended in The Sabarmati Report. However, some small dialogue changes have been made and that is also because, in today's time, more than writers, there are lawyers attached to a film.
"Some people just file cases against you. For example, Sector 36, we have 36 litigations, but that is the nature of the job, so you also have to be very careful. CBFC has not recommended any cuts; there are only suggestions made, which is a very generic process," Vikrant added.

The trailer also shows Vikrant along with Raashii Khanna attempting to uncover the truth behind the tragic train fire incident.
