The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 trailer: Mickey Haller's darkest hour brings high drama and flashbacks
2 months ago | 61 Views
The Lincoln Lawyer returns with new episodes on October 17. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo reprises his role as Mickey Haller in ten more episodes of the legal drama, which adapts Michael Connelly's The Gods of Guilt, the fifth installment in the The Lincoln Lawyer series. Possibly Connelly's finest work during that time period, say showrunners Dailyn Rodriguez and Ted Humphrey.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo promises a thrilling season
Garcia-Rulfo informs Tudum that this season is absolutely thrilling. Everyone can see that Mickey is having a challenging time juggling his romantic life, his wives, and his cases. Who is going to be evil, and who is going to be guilty? You can never tell.
Merrin Dungey and Allyn Moriyon join the cast
Merrin Dungey portrays Judge Regina Turner, a younger and more progressive judge compared to her district's peers, which may or may not benefit Mickey. In his first television role, Allyn Moriyon plays fitness fan and former babysitter Eddie Rojas, who helps Mickey's daughter Hayley find an excellent lawyer. Thankfully, Mickey can lend him a hand and even give him a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
William Forsythe, played by John Pirruccello, is a prosecutor that Mickey is eager to go off against despite his benign appearance. It becomes apparent, though, that things are not what they appear to be once the trial begins. Yaya DaCosta portrays Adam Suarez, a formidable figure in the legal system, who reports to prosecutor Andrea Freeman.
Together with Angus Sampson (Cisco), DaCosta (Andrea), Jazz Raycole (Izzy), and Becki Newton (Lorna), they will star in the upcoming season. Season 3 will also see the return of Neve Campbell as Maggie, Elliott Gould as Legal Siegel, Krista Warner as Hayley, Fiona Rene as Glory Days, and Devon Graye as Julian La Cosse.
Mickey's quest for justice intensifies in Season 3
The trailer glimpses Mickey's insatiable thirst for justice following Glory Days' death at the end of Season 2. A low growl escapes him as he vows to uncover the culprit. He will be buried, and he will find him. A rattlesnake also makes an appearance. Maggie, Mickey's ex-wife, accepted a position with the San Diego district attorney's office and relocated there last season. He assures Tudum, however, that she will continue to be on the personal axis of Mickey's life.
Then Garcia-Rulfo says he can't help but feel her presence, even when she's physically absent. Maggie is constantly present in some form. He believes he constantly feels guilty about cheating on her whenever he meets new girls.
She appears in a flashback scene in these first-look photographs from Season 3. Humphrey and Rodriguez explained to Netflix that they thought it would be a sweet and touching way to start the season with a flashback that showed us how Mickey Haller evolved into not only the exceptional criminal defence attorney but also the loving husband, doting father, and all-around man.
Despite Connelly's fifth book not including a flashback, the showrunners reveal that these images of a young Mickey finishing up surfing before a life-changing day at work, and cuddling on the couch with his wife Maggie after putting their young daughter Hayley to bed, are part of a pair of flashback scenes that bookend the first episode and propel them into the rest of Season 3. They felt it was a fitting introduction to the new season.
Season 2's global success and popularity
Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer debuted on July 6, 2023, and by August 29, 2023, it had accumulated 40 million views, placing it in the top ten on Netflix worldwide and in 81 different countries.
Whether it was his career or his personal life, Mickey was in a tangled web last season. Mickey was tasked with establishing Lisa Trammell's (Lana Parrilla) innocence when the captivating activist and restaurateur was accused of the murder of a famous city developer. An additional complication was that the client and lawyer were romantically involved—obviously before they began working together! Despite Lisa's acquittal, her shady past followed her, casting a shadow over any chance of a connection with Mickey.
Season 3 will be very personal for the rising star lawyer, even if she appears to have mastered most obstacles by now. Season 2 comes to a close with Mickey's sad news: his friend Glory Days, played by Fiona Rene, has passed away. The two had worked together on the Jesus Menendez case in Season 1.
Rodriguez shared that this one is personal, since it’s a client who he truly cared about and thought she had gotten out of that world and out of danger. Even now, Mickey remains plagued by the question, "Did he play a role in this?" Had he been able to assist her more effectively?
According to Ross Fineman, Mickey's executive producer, this case will be his most challenging one from a personal and professional standpoint. He mentioned that this person was his friend, and there is a persistent suspicion that he could have had some responsibility.
Glory's death has given Mickey a fresh, laser-like focus. As Rodriguez describes it, he has transformed into a "man on fire." The broken Mickey from Season 1, who needs to find his footing again, is a thing of the past. He achieved fame and money in Season 2, which we affectionately called the Icarus season; he actually soared a little too far into the sun and got somewhat burned. This season has made him into a man with a mission, unlike the previous two.
