Fawad Khan is not only a favorite actor in Pakistan but he also enjoys a massive fan following in India. He starred in a few Bollywood movies like Kapoor & Sons, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil after his debut in Khoobsurat and impressed the audience and critics with his fine craft. In an exciting announcement today (September 18), Zee Zindagi dropped the big news of the theatrical release of Fawad Khan’s epic period action film The Legend of Maula Jatt. Also starring Mahira Khan, the Punjabi-language actioner is gearing up for the grand premiere in India.
The Legend of Maula Jatt's India release date
Many Pakistani films and dramas have grabbed attention over the years. Similarly, Indian films and superstars are also loved across the border. Today, Zee Zindagi dropped a big announcement for Indian fans about Fawad Khan’s highly anticipated film The Legend of Maula Jatt. The period romance movie was released in Pakistan in the year 2022 but was delayed in India due to the ban of Pakistani artists. Taking to Instagram, the officials announced that the film will be released in India on 2 October 2024, i.e. on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The social media post shared the fascinating news along with the movie poster. 'Two years later, The Legend of Maula Jatt is still unstoppable. Witness the epic saga on the big screen in India from October 2, 2024,” the post read. The officials also revealed that more updates about the cinema listings will be shared very soon. For the unversed, the film is being released in India under Zee Studios.

Soon the announcement post received an overwhelming reaction from the Indian fans as they expressed their love for the movie. Netizens were on cloud nine after the big reveal and expressed excitement over it. One fan wrote, “Is it true?” Another shared, “Let art and music transcend borders.”

The Legend of Maula Jatt also stars Humza Ali Abbasi, and Humaima Malik in the lead roles. Loosely based on the Pakistani film Maula Jatt, this reboot revolves around the folk titular hero who fights back the ruthless leader of a clan. Directed by Bilal Lashari, it is executively produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Khan.
Meanwhile, The Legend of Maula Jatt etched history in Pakistani cinema as it became the first film to surpass the Rs 100-crore mark and entered the club of highest grossing film by raking in approximately 380 crore at the box office during its release in October 2022.
