The Judge From Hell, starring Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young in the lead roles, ended with the highest ratings for a finale episode. The ending is what has left people curious and excited at the same time. Did Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young get their happy ending? Was the story a replay from the moment Jae-young's Han Da-on met Shin-hye's Justitia? Here, we explain the ending of the series and also explore if there is a possibility of a new season...
A replay of Justitia's life as Judge Kang Bitna
Back when Justitia had just turned Judge Kang Bitna and fought her first case, she met a few school kids who were out on a trip to the Seoul High Court. It is in that moment where Han Da-on wondered who Judge Kang really was. He would chase her around trying to figure out the judge who took on cases, passed lame judgements and then the accused in her cases ended up dead with a symbol engraved on their head. It is really in that moment where Justitia and Da-on's love story began. Thus, the moment was replayed. 2 years after living in the human form, Justitia met the children again. This time, too, they refused to accept that she's a judge, but Justitia is indeed The Judge From Hell. She holds immense power being the sole heir to Bael (Shin Sung-rok) and yet, being forgiven for her sins by Gabriel and God himself. Thus, Justitia, in a way, has control of the God of Hell aka Lucifer (God's son who was an angel but turned a devil) as well.
Did Park Shin-hye's Justitia and Kim Jae-young's Han Da-on find their happy ending?
Not in the conventional sense, as of yet, but yes, Justitia and Han Da-on are happy in the moment. And honestly, that is more beautiful. The wedding photo shared with the cast was a BTS still from the moment Satan pushed Justitia in the dream world. She dreamed of marrying Han Da-on at the altar and they even shared a kiss. That is the only time they found their happily-ever-after. In real life, Justitia has only a year left to figure out life between Hell and Earth. While Bael has warned her to come back to Hell, Justitia obviously has different plans which involve her staying on Earth alongside her lover.
Will we get a new season of The Judge From Hell?
From the looks of it, yes, we will very much so get a new season of The Judge From Hell. Justitia's story and ultimately Han Da-on's story with her is left unexplored. What will Justitia do in the one year she has been granted? Can she change what she is eventually destined for (hell)? Will we see a wedding? The makers have surely left season 1 on a cliffhanger and so, do not be surprised if we get a season 2 soon.
