All eyes are set on actor Vijay's next film, The GOAT- Greatest of All Time, which is set to release in less than a month. Now ahead of the film's release, the plot of the film has been going viral on social media. Touted to be a sci-fi action thriller, The GOAT is written and directed by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu.

The GOAT plot

As per many social media handles, the plot of The GOAT has been circulated. "The shadows of an unknown past resurface, destabilizing a special anti-terrorist squad and shaking their trust as buried secrets come to light," reads the synopsis.

In The GOAT, Vijay is expected to make dual appearance in his old and young self. The makers have gone for de-ageing look to make Vijay look younger. The thriller is also said to be inspired by the 2004 Moscow Metro bombing after a suicide bomber detonated and took the lives of many. The film’s runtime is expected to be two hours and 30 minutes. However, an official announcement has not yet been made yet.

The GOAT is Vijay’s 68th outing as lead actor and is directed by filmmaker Venkat Prabhu in his first collaboration with the actor.

More on The GOAT

The GOAT is set to release on September 5 in big screens. Apart from Vijay, the film also stars Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhudheva, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Ameer, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and others. The makers recently released the Spark song from the film, which revealed the de-aged look of Vijay. However, the song and its making did not sit well with the audience. The album of The GOAT is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

It is to be noted that GOAT will be Vijay's first release after he announced his political entry and floated his own party. While the actor hinted at taking up a full-time political journey, The GOAT is expected to bring scores of the actor's fans to theatres.
