The GOAT is Vijay-starrer action drama, for which he collaborated with director Venkat Prabhu for the first time. The film released in theatres on September 5 and following its theatrical run, it is now available on Netflix for streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
The GOAT is an action drama, in which Vijay plays dual roles. The film revolves around former SATS agent Gandhi, who suffers through a personal loss during one of his assignments in Thailand. However, this changes his life permanently and after years of resigning his post, the past comes back to haunt Gandhi, in form of his son, also played by Vijay.
The cast of The GOAT includes actors Prabhudheva, Mohan, Prashanth, Laila, Sneha, Vaibhav, Premgi, Yogi Babu, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ajmal Amir, Parvati Nair, Jayaram Yugendran Vasudevan and Akilan among others. Actors Trisha and Sivakarthikeyan make cameo appearances in the film.
More on The GOAT
The film is bankrolled by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh under the banner AGS Entertainment (P) Ltd. The music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with Siddhartha Nuni cranking the camera. Venkat Raajen is the editor of the film. Venkat Prabhu has penned the dialogues along with Viji.
The GOAT opened to mixed reviews upon its release. OTTplay review of the film reads, “There is no denying that The GOAT is a film that warrants a theatre watch, given you go in as a fan, expecting less to chew and more to celebrate. Vijay pulls off his yet another acting stint following up with Leo. However, there is so much only Vijay and all the fan tributes can do, when the film lacks enough material to soak in.”
