We had earlier reported that Vijay's The GOAT, which already had a runtime of over three hours, will have an extended cut of the director's streaming while making its OTT debut. However, the film now available to watch on OTT seems to have the same theatrical version.
The GOAT out on OTT with theatrical version
During the theatrical release of The GOAT, filmmaker Venkat Prabhu who helmed the film said that Vijay-starrer film had a runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, the team decided to trim the film and bring it down to three hours and 3 minutes. Later it was said that The GOAT makers had decided to stream the director's cut with extended runtime while releasing it on OTT.
The GOAT premiered on Netflix today, October 3, with the same runtime as the theatrical version. This means that fans will not be able to see the director's cut. It is not known if the streaming platform will put up the extended version of the film online. For those who want to revisit the film and those who missed it in theatres, the film is streaming on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
