The project, written and directed Venkat Prabhu, has been garnering the attention of audiences with its promising trailer and songs. Interestingly, Venkat Prabhu confirmed that the Greatest Of All Time will hit the OTT screens, with all uncut scenes.

The GOAT extended cut will release on OTT, confirms Venkat Prabhu

In a recent interview with a leading Tamil online media, Venkat Prabhu revealed that the Thalapathy Vijay starrer originally had a runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, the makers were forced to chop off over 18 minutes-long footage from The Greatest Of All Time’s theatrical film, to fit it into the standard duration of a feature film. After the censor formalities, The GOAT has a final runtime of 3 hours and 3 minutes. The movie has bagged a U/A certificate, from the censor board.

However, Venkat Prabhu and the team have decided to release the deleted scenes from the film, which have a duration of over 18 minutes on social media, after the Vijay starrer hits the theatres. Later, The GOAT extended cut, which will include all the deleted scenes from the film, will be released on Netflix. Interestingly, the comedy scenes, which feature leading man Vijay’s younger character in the film, are among the scenes that were removed from the theatrical version of the film. However, The Greatest Of All Time is now confirmed to have its OTT release in its original, uncut form.

The GOAT release plans

As reported earlier, The Greatest Of All Time is gearing up to hit the theatres as the all-time biggest release in the history of Tamil film industry. The Thalapathy Vijay starrer is getting a record release in Tamil Nadu, its all neighbouring states including Kerala and Karnataka, and overseas centers. If the Venkat Prabhu directorial earns positive reviews from the audiences, the movie might emerge as one of the all-time highest grossing films of Tamil cinema.
