The world is certainly struggling to process the wild announcements at the San Diego Comic-Con 2024, which has been running for the past few days. Today, Kevin Feige took the stage at the Hall H event, revealing the future of the Multiverse Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The announcements and reveals kept getting wilder with each passing minute. While the world was hooked on updates about Avengers 5 and Avengers: Secret Wars, no one was prepared to hear that the studio had decided to change the title of their first The Fantastic Four movie. Initially announced as The Fantastic Four in February this year with a much-loved poster that also revealed the cast, the movie is about to begin filming, and the first footage has also been shared.

The Fantastic Four Gets A New Title

Just when the audience at the Hall H event at Comic-Con 2024 was processing the many details about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, they were clearly not ready for the cast of The Fantastic Four to walk in. Soon, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn were on the stage. It was not just for a filler; they ended up confirming a new title for the film. Read on to learn everything you should about the same.

As per the latest update from Comic-Con, the new title for The Fantastic Four now has a suffix: The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The title does have a meaning, but it is too soon to be explained by the makers. Kevin Feige has now confirmed that filming begins next week on Tuesday and that the team hits the sets on the same day. If that is not enough to get you excited, the background score for the Matt Shakman-directed film will be done by the iconic Michael Giacchino. There is also a Fantasticar that is being described as a Cadillac straight out of The Jetsons. A replica of the Fantasticar even took flight at the event.

Galactus And The Avengers' Future

Kevin Feige was prepared to give fans all the dose to up the anticipation for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The Marvel Cinematic Universe President presented a special reel to introduce the world to their idea of Marvel’s First Family in the MCU. The film will be set in an alternate reality in New York, set in the retro/futuristic 60s. The first footage also confirmed that Galactus will indeed be the main villain of the movie. Unlike the cloud depiction in past films, he will now have a face. The video shows him peering through a skyscraper, confirming his giant cosmic entity appearance.

Additionally, Kevin Feige confirmed that The Fantastic Four will participate in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. There is no more added to this update, but it is still incredibly exciting. The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing. The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in mystery roles, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as the villain Galactus.

Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps will release on the big screen on July 25, 2025, exactly a year from now. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
