On Monday, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of 7.35 percent in Hindi. In terms of audience attendance, the morning screenings achieved 4.97 percent, while the afternoon shows saw an attendance of 8.94 percent, and the evening performances recorded 8.14 percent.

Despite receiving favorable reviews upon its release, John Abraham's film has not experienced a notable increase in box office revenue. The earnings have remained relatively flat, with the opening day collection of ₹4 crore showing little improvement in the following days.

In contrast, Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava has emerged as a formidable competitor. Released on February 14, the film continues to draw a consistent audience, maintaining impressive footfall weeks after its debut.

About The Diplomat

Directed by Shivam Nair, known for his work on Naam Shabana, the film features John Abraham and Sadia Khateeb in prominent roles. It is inspired by the true story of Uzma Ahmad, an Indian national who was repatriated to India in 2017 after reportedly being deceived by a Pakistani man. Uzma disclosed that she was coerced into marriage at gunpoint and subjected to abuse during her visit to his country. The narrative highlights the endeavors of senior diplomat JP Singh, who is currently the ambassador to Israel, as he works to rescue the Indian woman who was enticed to Pakistan in 2017 by a man who promised her marriage. John Abraham portrays Singh in this cinematic adaptation.

A review excerpt from the Hindustan Times regarding The Diplomat stated, “This is a compelling project that successfully avoids the common pitfall of a sluggish second half, which often plagues films after intermission. Instead, The Diplomat unfolds like an engaging thriller, filled with car chases and intense situations. The resolution of Uzma's journey as she ultimately crosses the India-Pakistan border to return home is particularly satisfying.”
