Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders is one of the most-awaited films of 2024. After several posters drops, the makers finally released the trailer today, September 3. At the trailer launch event, Kareena was asked whether her Jas character is similar to Jab We Met's Geet since both were Sardarnis.

During the event, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked whether her character Jas is similar to her Geet character from Jab We Met. 

Bebo said that the two films are completely different. She shared, “It doesn't matter if you're playing the same authenticity of a religion, like if I am a Sikhni, it doesn't mean that I’m going to be Bathinda wali Sikhni. I should also be able to play the detective Jas Bhamra.”

Adding how it is the actor’s responsibility to showcase different parts, Kareena compared another two characters from her movies.

The actress shared that she has played a prostitute in Chameli but at the same time in Talaash. "But if you put both of them together they're completely different.” Similarly, she thought that Jas was also a very different character," she said. 

The Buckingham Murders trailer

In the trailer, we can see Kareena portraying a tough police officer in the enigmatic town of London. It focuses on the scene of a teenage murder. 

During the investigation, several suspects were identified, including a Muslim youth accused of killing the child, who is of Punjabi origin. The trailer gives a glimpse of Kareena's character's personal tragedy and how her turmoil intersects with the murder case. 

The Buckingham Murders to release in dual versions

It has been reported that the film will be released in both Hinglish and dubbed Hindi versions. A source told Bollywood Hungama, "As the title suggests, the film is set in Buckingham, England. To maintain authenticity, in the original Hinglish version, the dialogues of local actors are in English. Even the ones of Indian origin are speaking Hindi with an accent."

Meanwhile, The Buckingham Murders also featured Ash Tandon, Keith Allen, and Ranveer Brar. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film is written by Aseem Arora, Raghav Raj Kakker, and Kashyap Kapoor. It is bankrolled by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. It will hit theaters on September 13, 2024.
