2 months ago | 28 Views
In a couple of months, we will be celebrating two years since the release of The Batman: Part I, which marked Matt Reeves' foray into the tale of Gotham. The movie, which introduced Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in his superhero debut, was indeed one of the most interesting takes on the superhero. It left the audience divided, as the first poetic take on the Caped Crusader landed well with many, while others did not appreciate Reeves' poetic twist to the tale. However, soon everyone was left eagerly awaiting the sequel, which promises a massive turn of events as the DC Elseworlds enters a new phase. With the change in leadership and storytelling, we are curious to see what lies ahead. But there hadn't been any concrete updates about the progress —until today.
The Batman 2 Goes on Floors in 2025
Co-writer of The Batman: Part II, Mattson Tomlin, has now provided an update on the film and what is happening behind the scenes. In his latest interview, Tomlin spoke about his experience working on the sequel to the hit film that marked Robert Pattinson's debut as Batman. The writer also confirmed that the movie will go on floors next year, giving us the first confirmed update in a long time, after Matt Reeves hinted at filming in 2025. Read on to know everything about this massive update.
According to Comicbook, Mattson Tomlin discussed the progress of the film and how they have worked extensively on the script. He also praised Matt Reeves, calling him a unique talent. "It's shooting next year. We're gearing up, and I will say that the bar just couldn't be higher. It's the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt [Reeves] is like no other. In the five years now that I've been working with him as closely as I have."
He added, "I've tried to absorb as much as humanly possible from him, and I'm so grateful for the time that I get to spend with him because he is a true artist who is operating in a world where sometimes art doesn't get to flourish, and he's trying to make something that really matters. So to be able to just be on the ride and be part of that process, it's pretty unbelievable, pretty tremendous. I'm psyched for the movie."
About The Batman 2
There is no confirmed plot for the movie yet. However, Robert Pattinson will indeed return to the franchise as the titular superhero, and Zoe Kravitz will reprise her role as Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. The rest of the cast and characters have been kept under wraps. The movie will have to address the flooding of Gotham that occurred at the end of the first film, among other events. We were even teased with a glimpse of the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan, which suggests there is a chance he may return for a full-fledged role.
The Batman 2 is set for release on October 2, 2026. Stay tuned to Mobile Masala for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
