Thandel is scheduled to premiere on February 7, 2025. Ticket bookings are currently available, and sales are rapidly increasing, suggesting that the film featuring Naga Chaitanya is set for a robust debut in the Telugu states. Sai Pallavi stars as the female lead and has conveyed her admiration for Naga Chaitanya’s acting, expressing that it left her utterly astonished.

Sai Pallavi praises Naga Chaitanya's performance

In a recent interview, she recounted a specific scene in the film that was charged with deep emotions, which left her in awe.

"I distinctly recall a scene with both of us. After we filmed it, I watched the rushes that evening and was completely surprised by Chay's performance. The following day, I approached my director, Chandoo Mondeti, and requested to reshoot my part of the scene because I felt I appeared lacklustre in comparison to Chay Akkineni," Sai Pallavi remarked.

The acclaimed actress, renowned for her compelling performances across all her films, frequently draws attention away from her fellow actors. When questioned about this phenomenon, she remarked, "I do not subscribe to that notion. One must observe the remarkable work Chay has accomplished with his character in Thandel. His transformation, yearning for love, expressive nuances, and body language will undoubtedly captivate audiences with his profound performance. Once the film is released, his role will stand out as a focal point."

It is noteworthy that Naga Chaitanya was not the initial selection for the role in Thandel. Producer Allu Aravind initially expressed doubts regarding his suitability for such a demanding, mass-oriented character. Nevertheless, director Chandoo Mondeti successfully persuaded the team, leading to the eventual casting decision.

Recently, the producers unveiled a brief video highlighting Chay's transformation for the film, which has garnered an overwhelming response. Renowned as a sophisticated, Ferrari-driving celebrity in Telugu cinema, his depiction of Raju, a local fisherman from Vizag, has astonished audiences.

Given the significant buzz surrounding his role—drawn from a real-life individual—fans are keenly anticipating whether he will meet their expectations. The film's soundtrack is composed by DSP, and it is produced by Bunny Vas under the GA2 Pictures label. Additionally, Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for the film.
