Thandel's global box office earnings on day 2: Chandoo Mondeti's film featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi hit theaters on Friday. As per the producers, it raked in ₹41.20 crore gross worldwide within its first two days.

The official X (previously Twitter) account for Thandel shared some exciting news, revealing that the film raked in over ₹41.20 crore gross in just two days after its release. They posted, “#BlockbusterThandel has made 41.20 CRORE GROSS WORLDWIDE in 2 days. DAY 2 >> DAY 1 in the Telugu States. Day 3 is looking super strong! Grab your tickets for #Thandel now! #BlockbusterLoveTsunami.” They also mentioned that the film earned ₹21.27 crore gross on its opening day.

The film raked in ₹11.5 crore net in India on its first day, as per Sacnilk, and early estimates suggest it pulled in around ₹10.75 crore net on the second day. The Telugu version saw an overall occupancy rate of 57.32%, with night shows hitting 71.56%. It'll be interesting to see how it performs on Sunday and throughout the next week..

Allu Aravind presents and Bunny Vas produces this film under Geetha Arts. It was originally set to hit theaters last year but got pushed back to make the most of Valentine’s Day. Thandel marks Chaitanya’s biggest opening yet. The story is inspired by a real-life event where fishermen from Srikakulam accidentally drifted into Pakistani waters and ended up getting detained.

In the film, Chaitanya takes on the role of Raju, a fisherman who becomes the thandel (captain of a fishing boat) before a trip off the coast of Gujarat. Pallavi plays his girlfriend Satya, whom he affectionately calls bujji thalli (sweetheart). The movie has received a mix of reviews from critics and viewers, but both Chaitanya and Sai have been commended for their acting.
