Thandel, the latest film featuring Naga Chaitanya, has achieved remarkable success at the box office. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, this film represents their third collaboration and is inspired by a true event that occurred in the Srikakulam district.

Regarding the OTT platform details, OTTplay was the first to announce that Netflix acquired the film's streaming rights for an impressive ₹55 crore, with plans to release it on March 7, 2025. Currently, Thandel is available for streaming on Netflix in Hindi and all prominent South Indian languages.

In light of the film's theatrical triumph, there is considerable anticipation regarding its performance on OTT platforms, with expectations of substantial viewership. Reports indicate that several deleted jail sequences have been included in the OTT version.

Produced by Allu Aravind with an extravagant budget of ₹100 crore, the film achieved remarkable success at the box office. Aravind recouped half of the budget prior to the film's release through pre-release agreements, while the remainder was generated from theatrical revenues. Additionally, the rights sold post-release have significantly enhanced the film's financial returns.

Sai Pallavi played an integral role in Thandel, and her on-screen chemistry with Naga Chaitanya emerged as one of the film's standout features. The narrative follows a fisherman who inadvertently enters Pakistani waters and faces arrest. His girlfriend, portrayed by Sai Pallavi, confronts numerous obstacles in her quest to secure his release along with that of other detained fishermen.

Devi Sri Prasad provided the musical score, with the film's soundtrack achieving considerable popularity, further extending its theatrical success. Thandel garnered an impressive ₹68 crore share at the box office, while its collections in the U.S. surpassed $2 million. This achievement also marks Naga Chaitanya’s first film to cross the ₹100 crore milestone. Elated by the film’s success, he recently organized a lavish celebration for his close friends and industry peers.
