About Thandel
Produced by Bunny Vas and presented by Allu Aravind under the banner of Geetha Arts, Thandel marks Naga Chaitanya's most significant project to date. The narrative revolves around two lovers from a fishing village near Srikakulam, whose relationship is disrupted by unfulfilled promises and the whims of fate.
Chaitanya portrays Raju, a fisherman who is appointed as Thandel (the captain of a fishing vessel) prior to a fishing expedition off the coast of Gujarat. Sai Pallavi plays his beloved Satya, affectionately referred to as bujji thalli (dear one). The film draws inspiration from a true event involving fishermen who inadvertently drifted into Pakistani waters and faced imprisonment.
The film has received a mixed reception from both critics and audiences.
