Thalapathy Vijay is all set to join hands with director H Vinoth, for his 69th outing in Tamil cinema. The movie, which has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, marks the crowd puller’s final outing as an actor, before his long break from films. Earlier, it was reported that KVN Productions, the Bangalore-based production banner is set to make their Tamil cinema debut with the untitled film. However, the recent updates suggest that Jagadish Palanisamy is producing Thalapathy 69, contrary to initial reports.

Thalapathy 69 to be produced by The Route?

If the recent updates are to be believed, KVN Productions is no longer the frontrunner to bankroll the upcoming Thalapathy Vijay starrer. According to the grapevine, The Route, the production banner founded by Jagadish Palanisamy, has taken over the production of the much-awaited H Vinoth directorial. The production banner, however, has not officially announced their collaboration with Thalapathy 69 yet. But it is safe to assume that the reports are indeed true, considering Jagadish’s close association with leading man Vijay.

H Vinoth confirms collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay

The filmmaker, who attended the Magudam Film Awards event in Chennai recently, opened up about his first collaboration with Thalapathy Vijay. H Vinoth, who confirmed that he is indeed teaming up with the Leo actor for the latter’s 69th project. According to the Valimai director, the untitled project is not a political thriller, but is a 100 percent Vijay film, which will cater to the audiences of all age groups.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is expected to appear as the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay in the untitled film. Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar is said to be in talks to play a pivotal role. Premalu actress Mamitha Baiju is also expected to join the star cast of the film. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the songs and the original score. Sathyan Sooryan is the director of photography. The much-awaited project is expected to start rolling in October 2024.
